Casa do Engenho Braga, despite being in a rural area, is close to many attractions, since we are 8 km away from the city of Braga and Amares.

In this publication we have gathered some interesting places to visit located less than 20 minutes by car from Casa do Engenho, they are:

1- Praia Fluvial de Adaúfe - where we are located, it should be on this list, right? :)

A place of recreation, where, in the summer, you can rent canoes, paddle boards. At the same time, a historic place with 3 watermills, one of them with a working wheel, and an irrigation device dating back to the 19th century;

2- Lago dos Cisnes Park - located in Amares, on the banks of the Cávado River, a leisure space to enjoy a good breakfast/snack or a drink. The decoration of the space includes elements of tropical origin (Minimum consumption is mandatory);

3- Mosteiro de Tibães - historic and imposing building with a beautiful church, outdoor spaces and archaeological remains;

4- Picoto Viewpoint - recently refurbished place where you can view the city of Braga. A good spot for lovers of beautiful sunsets ;) ;

7- Biscainhos Museum - probably one of the best known museums in the city with breathtaking gardens. O museu dos Biscainhos is located on the street of the same name, in allusion to the workers of Biscaia (Spain), who settled here to work on the construction of the Biscainhos palace, in the 19th century. XVI, as well as other monuments in the city, such as the Cathedral of Braga;

8- Sé de Braga - the main cathedral of the city, located in the historic center. It is the oldest cathedral in Portugal, having been consecrated in 1089 and was built over a Roman temple dedicated to Isis, a deity associated with fertility. In the same sense, in the Cathedral of Braga we also find the statue of Nossa Senhora do Leite, a rare piece in the world, and also a symbol of fertility and motherhood;

9- Sete Fontes - In the 17th century, they constituted a water supply system for the city of Braga. It is possible to get there walking by a 3km old Roman path, from the Church of Adaúfe.
